Example Audience: Subscribers in specific Zip Code(s)

To reach the audience editor, navigate to Outreach > Audiences, and then hit the blue plus button in the top right hand corner. 

To create an audience that includes newsletter subscribers who ALSO live in one zip code, first you will select the user field Optin (which can be found under Default User Fields). 

You will want this criterion to be "Is Equal To Yes." The "Optin" field is a Yes/No field that determines whether or not a constituent has subscribed to your newsletter. Add a new line by clicking the plus (+) button at the end of the row.

In the second line, choose the user field "HomeAddress ZIP" and enter the exact, five-digit zip code you would like to target. Next, you should change Include People Matching from "Any Of" (which means "or") to "All Of" (which means "and"). 

As you build your audience, if you want to see how many people match the criteria you entered, just click "refresh" at the top of the page.

Then click "Save."

To create an audience that includes newsletter subscribers who ALSO live in multiple zip codes, you will need to create two separate audiences. One will contain the zip codes you want to include, and the other one will consist of the new audience with zip codes plus your opt-ins/newsletter subscribers.
 
The first audience you create will have the zip codes of constituents you’d like to target. you should leave Include People Matching as "Any Of" (which means “or”). Next choose the user field "HomeAddress ZIP" and enter the five-digit zip code you would like to target. Next, press the plus (+) button at the end of that row to add another field and select the user field “HomeAddress ZIP” and enter the next zip code you’d like included. Repeat these steps for as many zip codes you’d like to have in the audience and then hit the “save” button when done.

Then we will create a second audience which you should change to Include People Matching as “All Of" (which means “AND”). First you will select the user field Optin (which can be found under Default User Fields). You will want the criterion to be "Is Equal To Yes." Add a new line by clicking the plus (+) button at the end of the row. For the second line select the user field “Audience” and leave the criterion as “is Equal to” and then press the box next to that section to select the audience name with the zip codes you created in the previous step.

Once you have finished press ”Save” to save your audience for newsletter subscribers from multiple zip codes.
