District Mismatch

Although this is a rare occurrence, it is possible for the contact form to reject a constituent who lives very close to the border between two districts (oftentimes from a split zip code that is shared between different Members), even if this person is contacting the correct Member of Congress.

We first recommend checking the House's Find My Rep tool to determine if an address is in a district. There are hundreds of millions of addresses in this database, and sometimes errors can occur. If this is the case, we recommend submitting an error report to the House (Select 'Report an Error in the Find My Representative Service') so they can correct the error.

If the constituent reaches out to your office, you can gather the appropriate contact information and enter their information and message manually into the Fireside system.

If you find that a particular split zip code is giving you trouble (multiple occurrences), an Account Owner in the office can choose to accept all mail from that zip code by adding the zip code to the "Constituent zip codes" section under System Settings > Website > Contact Form Settings. If you have multiple zip codes to enter, place only one on each line.
