Folders are used to organize and store web pages in Fireside. Each folder has it's own unique URL. For example, if the folder name is 'Services' then the URL is lastname.house.gov/services/pagename.htm for everything in that folder.
If you're creating a page with a new URL you'll create a new folder.
To add a new folder:
-
Go to Website > Pages.
-
Click the blue plus button in the top right hand corner and then choose 'Add Folder.'
-
Type your desired name for the folder. For example, 'Services.'
-
Check the URL path to make sure it matches what you'd prefer. It will automatically fill in the name that you chose.
-
Leave "Root - Folder" in the parent folder dropdown. (Rarely, you may want to make a sub-folder within an existing folder. To do that change the parent folder dropdown to the parent folder you'd like).
-
Click the 'Save' button when finished.
-
Once you hit save you are now onto the page for that folder. Click the blue 'body text' link to edit the main page for that folder.
