Only Account Owners have access to this function. If you need access to or assistance with this function please contact your Account Owner.
Note: Due to House security protocols, only users with active @mail.house.gov can be given access to your Fireside database. That user must also have access to the House network.
If you need to add new staffer or intern user accounts to the Fireside platform, follow the instructions below.
-
Login to your Fireside account.
-
Over over the person icon in the bottom-left corner
-
Select "System Settings" from the menu.
-
From System Settings > Users click the blue “+” button in the top right corner
-
Fill in the First Name and Last Name, which will auto populate the @mail.house.gov email address.
-
Check the "Send Account Activation Email" box. This will send an automated email to the new user that allows them to create a personal password. This must be checked to activate the new account.
-
At the bottom of the page, check off the permissions modules to enable access for Fireside features.
-
Under User Settings for the Default Reminder Days box you can set a number of days to automatically create casework reminders. For example, 7 would automatically create reminders a week after a case was created.
-
Click "Save."
Please tell the new staffer to check their Outlook inbox for the account activation email. If not received after 5 minutes, please ask the staffer to check their Junk folder (we've had reports of these emails being accidentally flagged as spam by Outlook).
*If the activation email needs to be resent
Check the checkbox next to the staffer's name > Select the 3 dots in the top right > Click "Send Activation Emails"
*If you get an error message when trying to create the account
The error message simply means that the email address that was entered is already in the system. Either the email address is inactive or they have a constituent profile. In order to bypass the error message, you will have to click on "Edit other Admin" and continue with process. Selecting "edit other Admin" does not make the user an Account Owner.
