When a constituent goes to your website your office may have a "Help with a Federal Agency" form. It looks like this: http://crmdemo.firesideweb01.house.gov/forms/casework/. When constituents fill out this form it is set up to automatically go into the mailroom tools in a batch called "Casework (Routing)". That batch is the repository for those online form submissions. We can also turn on email notifications for your casework form so you get notified when a request comes in.
You can get there in Fireside by going to Mailroom > batches > casework (Routing). That batch may look something like this:
From this batch you can click the dropdown arrow to read what was submitted through the online form for each person. You can also click on a persons name to pull up that individual piece of mail.
On that page you can scroll down to see their form submission, but then at the top of the page click the action button and select 'create a case'. That will let you convert this piece of mail into a case.
After you click the create a case button, the add a case flyout will pop over the screen and let you fill in the information about the case. The online form response becomes the first note in the case for future reference.
Once that form submission has been converted, it will no longer be in the casework (routing) batch and will instead show up on the casework > my cases page for the appropriate caseworker to work on.
