Take a Video Screenshot

To take a screenshot and crop the image:

  1. Go to http://www.youtube.com.

  2. Find and play your video. When the video is at a frame that you'd like to use for the screenshot, pause the video and move ahead to step 3.

  3. Press the “Ctrl” and “PrtSc” or “PrtPn” (this button is on your keyboard, usually along the top after the function keys). This will copy what the screen is currently displaying.

  4. Under the Windows Start Menu: go to All Programs, then Accessories, and click Paint.

  5. Under the Paint Program: Click on Edit, then Paste. Your screenshot should have pasted into the Paint body.

  6. Under Paint: On the left side under the toolbox will see a dotted box. Click on the dotted box tool, then drag a box selection around the image of the video.

  7. Once you have the image selected, press Ctrl+C to copy.

  8. Then go to File > New, to open a new document.

  9. Click on Edit, then Paste.

  10. You may have to resize the canvas size by dragging the bottom right corner so that there is no extra white space.

  11. Go to File > Save As and type in the File Name. Make sure the file saves as a JPEG.

  12. You can save the file on your desktop or under My Documents.

Upload a Screenshot:

  1. Navigate to Web Site > Photos.

  2. Click the “New Photo” button in the header toolbar.

  3. Select the album you want the photo to go to. You should select a hidden album. If you don't already have a hidden album, you should create one.

  4. Type in the Photo Name.

  5. Type in Photo Description.

  6. Click the Select button to browse for the photo on your desktop.

  7. You should pick the photo you created earlier.

  8. Then click “Upload Photo” when completed.

  9. Allow a couple of seconds for the photo to load completely.
