There are two ways to create a batch in Fireside: creating a batch in advance and creating a batch on the fly.
Creating a Batch in Advance
If you want to create a batch before you have any mail, the easiest way is to create it is by going to Mailroom > Batches.
Just click the blue plus button in the top right hand corner of the page, and you will be able to name and assign a staff member to own the new batch.
Creating a Batch in On the Fly
There are three ways to create a batch on the fly within Fireside. The first is on the logging screen.
Under the Response column, click into the field for "Batch" and you will be able to assign the logged piece of mail to an existing batch or create a new one. Start typing the name of the batch, and Fireside will identify any matches, if any.
The results will list the batch with the most pieces of mail at the top and display the owner of the batch under the name (in this case, Admin is the owner). If you want to create something new, simply click "Create" next to the name you entered. The word "New" will then appear next to batch.
The functionality is the same: you type in a batch name and choose to create a new batch, and once you click "Save," the piece of mail will be assigned/re-assigned to a brand new batch.
Finally, you have the power to create a new batch when you are modifying an existing batch.
Just like before, start by entering the name of the new batch.
Once you have chosen to create a new batch, the word "New" will appear next to batch name. Once you click "Update," the pieces of mail will be reassigned from one batch to the new one.
