Within Outreach > Messages, once you have sent your message you can click or hover over the message in the Messages list page and perform several actions by clicking the snowman button on the right:
View this Newsletter
Click this option to review the properties, activity, and versions of the newsletter. From here you can also view the Summary Report or Clone the message so that you don’t have to recreate the message from scratch if you want to send one that’s similar in the future.
Publish to Email List Page
Click this option if you would like to add a link to the email on your website. The link will appear at https://yourdomain.house.gov/news/email in a list format accompanied by the date it was sent (not the date you click publish). You can unpublish the email at any time to remove it from this public facing web page.
This option is recommended for e-newsletters because the link will open the email in a new page separate from your website design. Since html emails are typically created using tables and designed with a lot of extraneous code so that they look great in all different email clients, it’s particularly important that the email lives on its own page so that it does not interfere or harm the responsiveness or user experience of the rest of your website. Click here to learn how to correct the online version of a message once it has been published.
Remember: if you are an email-only client and do not use Fireside for your website, you’ll need to ask your web vendor to link to or iframe this page on your website.
Create Press Release from Newsletter
Click this option if you would like to create a news document on your website containing the content of your sent email message. Clicking this will create an unpublished news item containing only the editable components of your email message. You will need to navigate to Website > News within your Emanager to modify and/or publish your newly created news document. Your document will automatically be tagged as the “Press Releases” document type, but you can change the type from this page as well.
This option is recommended for press releases (or similar messages) where your email message only includes text-based components. This feature prevents you from having to manually copy/paste your press release content from the Outreach tool to the Website tool when you need to publish the same content in multiple places.
Note: as mentioned above, this option works best for messages that contain text and header drag and drop components only. This feature does not work if there is a video component in your message.
